Top 10 Net Payout Yield Companies To Buy For 2014

With new market highs, hot IPOs such as GoPro Inc. (NASDAQ:GPRO) ripping it up, and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) back on top, Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has been sort of quiet, moved to the background.

Ah, but it would be a mistake to forget about the search giant. So, iStock decided a 3T analysis was in order.

The first thing we notice on the chart below is that GOOGL appears to be in the process of completing a triangle pattern with the shape standing on the tip. If that's the correct call, then GOOGL shares should challenge the 52-week high of $604.83 (could that be the market high?).

The 12 and 26-day averages are accelerating high, along with Google's MACD line. Rising trend tines and bullish divergence usually leads to higher prices in the intermediate future.

I always find it very interesting to see what long-term investors are selling in a given quarter. Kahn Brothers lightened up on many financials that have shot up and now trade above book value. The firm sold out of Flushing Financial (FFIC), TCF Financial (TCB) and Dime Community Bank (DCOM). Khan apparently shares my views on the large-cap drug stocks, easing up on both Pfizer (PFE) and Bristol Meyers (BMY) over the summer. Khan Brothers also sold the last of the Travelers shares (TRV) it has owned since 2008 at more than twice the purchase price.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By John Emerson]

As noted previously, I rode the elevator up and then back down on Camtek (CAMT), a tiny Israeli automated optical inspection (AOI) company. By late 2008 the company had fallen to below $1 per share. Both of Camtek larger rivals, RTEC and ORBK, had dropped to absurdly low levels by November 2008. I used the opportunity to switch out of CAMT and some of my other losing propositions in favor of these superior companies. In the process, I created a large amount of tax loss carry-forwards which would allow me to minimize my future taxation when I decided to sell these cyclical entities.

  • [By John Emerson]

Camtek was an automated optical inspection (AOI) company that designed and manufactured inspection systems for printed circuit boards (PCB). Further, they were in the process of designing systems to inspect semiconductors as well. The logic for investing in AOI companies was simple: Many circuit boards still employed visual inspection and circuits were getting smaller every year.

Advisors' Opinion:

What: Shares of MiMedx Group (NASDAQ: MDXG  ) , a manufacturer of patented regenerative biomaterial products (in essence, products designed to treat inflammation and help wounds heal), were eviscerated, falling as much as 70% at one point before recovering half of its losses after it announced the receipt of an untitled letter from the Food and Drug Administration alleging it does not possess the proper licensing to manufacture certain products.

  • [By Bryan Murphy]

It may not be as big as NuVasive, Inc. (NASDAQ:NUVA), and it might not be as sexy as MiMedx Group Inc. (NASDAQ:MDXG). But, Bacterin International Holdings Inc. (NYSEMKT:BONE) offers something to investors that MDXG and NUVA don't - can't - right now... a distinct opportunity for a lot of upside in a short amount of time.
